Temple’s entrance. The Force responded to his emotional state, caught
him up in its power until he was awash in it. He sensed the seed of fear
growing in the soldiers’ guts.
“I said stop,” the lead soldier said again.
“Do nothing,” Malgus said to Eleena over his shoulder. “These are
mine.”
She let her hands fall slack to her sides and fell in behind him.
The three guards spread out into an arc as they approached him,
their movements cautious, blaster rifles ready. The entrance to the
Temple, a fifteen- meter- tall opening in the edifice’s façade, loomed behind
them.

This week we are given a preview for Chapter 6 for the upcoming Star Wars Horror novel, which is to be set during the time of the Old Republic.
Below if a excerpt from the preview:
It was after midnight in the academy's main hanger. Finishing up the last of his maintenance chores, Pergus Frode found himself glaring at the Corellian cruiser still taking up space in the corner of the landing pad. He’d refueled the craft and kept its engines hot, as its pilot had demanded, but that had been several hours ago and there’d been no word from the bounty hunters. Now it was late and he wanted nothing more than to shut things down, go back to his quarters, and collapse into his bunk.Source: starwars.com

Surprise, surprise...today we receive a preview of Joe Schreiber's upcoming book: Red Harvest. Joe has written his previous Star Wars novel: Death Troopers. Eager to find out more, here's the synopsis!
The era of the Old Republic is a dark and dangerous time, as Jedi Knights valiantly battle the Sith Lords and their ruthless armies. But the Sith have disturbing plans -- and none more so than the fulfillment of Darth Scabrous's fanatical dream, which is about to become nightmarish reality.
Unlike those other Jedi sidelined to the Agricultural Corps -- young Jedi whose abilities have not proved up to snuff -- Hestizo Trace possesses one extraordinary Force talent: a gift with plants. Suddenly her quiet existence among greenhouse and garden specimens is violently destroyed by the arrival of an emissary from Darth Scabrous. For the rare black orchid that she has nurtured and bonded with is the final ingredient in an ancient Sith formula that promises to grant Darth Scabrous his greatest desire.
But at the heart of the formula is a never-before-seen virus that's worse than fatal -- it doesn't just kill, it transforms. Now the rotting, ravenous dead are rising, driven by a bloodthirsty hunger for all things living -- and commanded by a Sith Master with an insatiable lust for power and the ultimate prize: immortality... no matter the cost.
To read the preview just click on the image and enjoy! The books is scheduled to come out this December.

Joe Schreiber, author of Death Troopers reveals his next Star Wars horror novel, which is to be set in The Old Republic Era.
A short summary from Random House:
Strange things are happening in a Sith academy, where the Dark Lord in charge has barricaded himself away, unexplained violence is on the rise, and the apprentices are growing more and more frightened. When a mercenary arrives with a delivery for the Sith Lord -- and a hostage Jedi in tow -- the situation reaches a boiling point. Only a Jedi Master, looking for the missing Jedi, can hope to get her -- and himself -- out alive.
Death Troopers was a great book, the setting was a mixture of horror & sci-fi. The book portrayed a sense of urgency, dread, and brought into light a new set of characters along side some old ones in a very non intrusive way into the Star Wars world. I highly recommend it even if your not a fan of horror. It's a very enjoyable fast read. With that in mind i am more than confident this will be a huge success for Schreiber.
The book is set to release 1/25/2011 and is set to be approx. 250 pages. More Info can be found here.
Paul S. Kemp recently updated his blog, posting a excerpt from jhis upcoming novel, "Deceived". THe following scene takes place from the first cinematic trailer. Enjoy the great read!
Malgus took one last look around, at the children and their parents playing, laughing, eating, everyone going about their lives, unaware that everything was about to change.
“Come,” he said to Eleena, and picked up his pace. His cloak swirled around him. So, too, his anger.
Moments later, he received another coded transmission, this one from the highjacked dropship.
Jump complete. On approach. Arrival in ninety seconds.
Ahead, he saw the four towers surrounding the stacked tiers of the Jedi Temple, its ancient stone as orange as fire in the light of the setting sun. The civilians seemed to give it a wide berth, as if it were a holy place, rather than a place of sacrilege.
He would reduce it to rubble.
He walked toward it and fate walked beside him.
Statues of long-dead Jedi Masters lined the approach to the Temple’s enormous doorway. The setting sun stretched the statue’s tenebrous forms across the duracrete. He walked through the shadows and past them, noting some names: Odan Urr, Ooroo, Arca Jeth.
